ATP Champions Summer Update

Summer is officially in full swing, and we can definitely tell by all the out of office vacation replies! With our own office being pretty quiet this past month, it’s been awhile since we posted about our Champions recognition program. Now that we’re about three and a half months into the program, we wanted to give everyone an update on how things are going!

First of all, congrats to the 55 (!!) organizations, residential communities, and commercial buildings that have joined our program so far! These Champions have shown a commitment to providing their employees or residents with a variety of transportation benefits and amenities, improving their own organizations and making a positive impact in the local community.

We’ve been excited to see such a variety in the types of businesses and properties that joined Champions. For employers, small organizations like A-SPAN and the Navy League of the United States have taken advantage of Champions by implementing small, no-cost initiatives such as employee density zip code maps or the ART Adopt-a-Stop program. At the other end of the spectrum, Consumer Electronics Association, SRA International, National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, and the National Science Foundation have earned Platinum status due to the robust transportation benefit programs they are already offering, such as telework, bicycle facilities, and transit subsidies for commuting.

Arlington residential and commercial properties have been eager to get involved with Champions as well! Both old and newer buildings are represented in the Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels, and offer programs to tenants including customized transportation information, surveys, bike storage, and lobby events. From garden-style apartments such as Buckingham Gardens to modern high-rise buildings like Bennett Park, residential communities in Arlington are not only meeting tenant demand for transportation amenities but are also being recognized for their positive contribution to the community.

Finally, ATP hosted a fun networking happy hour event a couple weeks ago for our current Champions participants at Heavy Seas Alehouse in Rosslyn! It was great to see many of our clients and we enjoyed making introductions between different organizations. If you weren’t able to attend, we plan on hosting another event in the fall – keep an eye out for more information in the coming months!

Remember, it’s never too late to become a Champion! Businesses, residential properties, and commercial buildings have until the end of the year to join the program or move up a level by meeting additional criteria. It’s easy be rewarded for your transportation programs – your organization can earn recognition in our newsletters, local publications, a short video series (that we just started!) and at the end of the year awards banquet.
