It’s Capital Bikeshare’s 2nd birthday today! After starting out with just 50 stations and 400 bikes, the system now has over 175 stations and around 1700 bikes in DC, Arlington, and Alexandria. Here in Arlington, it’s been so exciting to see new CaBi stations installed throughout the Rosslyn-Ballston corridor and in the Pentagon City/Crystal City area over the past two years. For South Arlington residents, CaBi will be coming to Columbia Pike and other areas in the coming months - check out the proposed station locations here! We also love new additions to the Capital Bikeshare family - the ATP team, BikeArlington, and Mobility Lab had a great time yesterday riding CaBi down the Mt. Vernon Trail to show our support for Bikeshare in Alexandria! With the official launch of the eight new stations in Old Town, Capital Bikeshare continues to expand in the DC region, and gives employees, residents and visitors another transportation option for short trips throughout the city.
If you haven’t tried Capital Bikeshare yet, this is a great time to check it out! The weather has been beautiful, and with all the new bike lane improvements lately, it’s become much safer and easier to ride a bike in Arlington and DC. There are multiple membership options available, and the first thirty minutes of every ride is always free! For employers, Capital Bikeshare memberships ca
n be offered as an employee benefit through the Corporate Partner program. By choosing one of four different partner levels, your company can encourage employees to use an active and more affordable form of transportation in addition to promoting a healthier lifestyle.
