ATP TAKEAWAY: The Crystal City BID is a public-private partnership in Crystal City that works to promote, develop and maintain the urban village. Not only are they a great company, they're also a Gold Level Champion.

Only one week to go until our Champions Ceremony! We here at Arlington Transportation Partners (ATP) are anxiously awaiting the chance to thank all of our hard working Champions for the work they did throughout 2014.

Today, we will be highlighting not only a great company but one that we work with on a regular basis to promote alternative transit, Gold Level Champion – Crystal City BID. In fact, the President and CEO, Angela Fox, happens to be the keynote speaker at our awards breakfast!

The Crystal City BID is a public/private partnership in Crystal City that works to promote, develop and maintain the urban village. Their efforts range from the ever popular Wine in the Water Park during the summer months to the Crystal City FRESHFARMS Farmers Market that lines the sidewalk of Crystal Drive. They were one of the 31 original companies that participated in our pilot Champions program in 2013.

Fox enjoys that Crystal City is able to offer so many forms of transportation. All of the Crystal City BID staff make an effort to bike to work to try and demonstrate Crystal City’s accessibility as a multi-modal destination. And with a Metro Station and tons of bus lines, even bad weather can’t keep them from making it to work with ease. Fox highlights how the area with the help of the Crystal City BID can be innovative, active, artful, accessible and green.

As a company, the Crystal City BID offers a direct transit benefit to all employees who wish to take advantage. Telework is available when necessary and all of the bike commuters have easy access to racks for parking. They also offer a Capital Bikeshare Corporate Membership (Gold Level).

We look forward to continuing to work with the Crystal City BID promoting alternative transit throughout Crystal City.

Champions 2015

Even though Champions 2014 has come to a close, ATP is already looking to honor even more Champions in 2015! Champions is a 1-year program with an informal re-enrollment process. Simply put, your rep will contact you to confirm you’d like to participate again.
