Commute66’s Sustain & Save launched in July of 2021 and provides individuals who work for a covered employer with $100 when they switch from driving and paying tolls on I-66 to a sustainable commuting option (given a minimum of 8 monthly commutes).
Tired of paying tolls on I-66 and looking for parking at your worksite? Find out below how you can qualify for Sustain & Save.
To enroll in Sustain & Save, your employer must have agreed to provide employees with access to the program. If their worksite is located inside the Beltway in Northern Virginia and within 3 miles of I-66, they can join by simply signing a participation form. This lets us know they’d like to allow employees to join Sustain & Save and will promote the program so their employees know how they can receive the $100 per month (on top of any employer-provided benefits).
So far, we have a number of employers, large and small, enrolled in Sustain & Save, including George Mason University, Virginia Hospital Center, E&M Technologies, Arlington County, and more. Check here to see if your employer is enrolled and if you don’t see them on the list provide the Employer Participation Form to your HR team today.
Tolls are in effect on I-66 in Northern Virginia for people who drive alone between the I-495 interchange and US Route 29 in Rosslyn during certain hours of the day. If you currently drive alone on I-66 and pay tolls to reach your worksite, you may qualify for Sustain & Save by trading in your drive to work in favor of a more sustainable mode of commute (carpooling, Vanpooling, biking, or using public transit).
Once in the program, you are eligible to receive a $100 monthly incentive from Sustain & Save each month that you commute at least 8 days using a sustainable option. If you regularly commute 8 days per month to work (approximately 2 days per week), you’re in luck! Sustain & Save may be a great fit for you!
Note: The minimum of 8 days per month requirement to receive Sustain & Save payments went into effect on May 1, 2022. If you’re an active Sustain & Save participant who commuted less than 8 days per month prior to May 1, 2022, you still received payment for any months reported through April 2022.
If you meet all the above requirements, it’s time to join! Joining is easy. Follow these simple steps to receive your monthly Sustain & Save incentive.
Commute66 and Arlington Transportation Partners (ATP) can also help you find a commuting option that works best for you. We’ll also help you connect your commute with any employer-provided benefits, find carpool/vanpool parking spots, and more.
