Sustain & Save: Commute66's Newest Financial Program

ATP Takeaway: Commute66 is excited to announce our newest incentive program, Sustain & Save. When companies become a Sustain & Save partner, qualified employees can earn $100 a month when they trade in their parking pass and choose another commute option.

Companies who join the Sustain & Save program will provide their employees with a transit benefit that is at the forefront of transportation demand management strategies. By joining this program, your company will be supporting Northern Virginia’s regional growth by reducing traffic along I-66 while improving the air quality and sustainability efforts around the region.

The Sustain & Save program will provide $100 a month* to commuters who travel along I-66 and pay tolls when they trade in their parking benefit in favor of another commute option such as public transit, vanpooling, carpooling, or biking.

*Participating individuals receive $100 per month Sustain & Save incentive through June 2022, with possibility to extend based on funding.

Companies & Employees: Qualifications and Expectations

To join Sustain & Save, a company must have an office located within a three-mile radius of I-66 inside the beltway. Individuals qualify when they commute along I-66 inside the beltway during tolling hours and in the tolled direction to/from the employer after they forgo their parking benefit for another commute mode.

What to expect

When joining the Sustain & Save program your company will work together with Commute66 to promote the program via sample promotion pieces and the option for a customized promotion plan. Our consultation on transit benefits and commuter trends is available along with updates on the program’s impact to the region and employees. Additionally, this effort will create a more engaged and productive workforce as Commute66 representatives will assist those who join Sustain & Save to find their most optimal commute and ways to use the benefits available.

Support for the return to the office

There has been a lot of buzz going on the differences in where company leaders and employees want to work: in the office or at home.

The fact is, the majority of employees would prefer and expect to work from home 3 times per week and 39% of adults are considering leaving their job if the promised flexibility is not followed through. The Sustain & Save program will add $100 a month to any qualifying employee’s monthly transit budget, surely sweetening the return to the office.
