Bike to Work Day

Registration is open for this fun and free event coming up on Thursday, May 15, 2025. When registering for the event, remember to note your preferred pit-stop where you’ll be able to pick up your free t-shirt, food, and giveaways. This year BTWD will feature over 100 pit-stops across the DMV, with eight in Arlington to choose from. Arlington was recently designated a Gold Bicycle Friendly Community due to its expanded network of trails and bike lanes, as well as equitable access, making Arlington a great place to bike.

ATP can provide a myriad of resources to help make BTWD promotion as easy as possible. Reach out to an ATP representative to inquire about digital or physical fliers and tailored language for you to promote the event at your business or property. As an added benefit, promoting BTWD awards Silver Level credit in the Champions program. Whether you’re already a member or interested in learning more about earning recognition through Champions, ATP is happy to support you in promoting this annual community event!

BikeArlington’s Comfort Map is ideal whether you’re planning your route as a bike commuter or mapping out any other rides. The Bike Comfort Map was updated in 2024 based on data like traffic stress, pavement conditions, and bicycle facilities throughout the County to provide a comprehensive analysis of comfort level. ATP can provide physical copies of the map to your employer or property to ensure employees, tenants, residents, and visitors are prepared for their ride.

If your employees, tenants, or residents are biking in Arlington on a regular basis, ATP recommends filling out the Arlington County Police Department’s (ACPD) Bike Registration Form. If a bike is stolen, the ACPD is better equipped to assist if they have a record of it. After submitting the form, ACPD will send a decal in the mail to display on the bike.

Additionally, ATP has a resource available in English and Spanish with Tips for Locking Your Bike to help avoid theft and damage to your property.
