We knew it was a little risky hosting an event outdoors at the end of April, but we were still bummed that we had to cancel our annual National Walk at Lunch Day festivities due to torrential downpours and the threat of severe storms.
Despite the rainout, we were excited that there was so much excitement and interest for this year’s event – over 1,200 people from more than 70 organizations registered to join us at our Ballston, Crystal City, or Rosslyn pit stops. That’s nearly 400 more people who signed up compared with last year!
We’ve also been happy to see several of the companies that registered decide to hold their own Walk at Lunch Day event when the weather got nicer! While we know our awesome gift bags (a pedometer, reflector, and Walkabout Maps inside a cool canvas shoe bag!) were a big draw, it definitely goes to show – it doesn’t have to be National Walk at Lunch Day to walk at lunch with your coworkers!
Shout out to the following organizations that still held their own Walk at Lunch Day! Check out some of their pictures below!
