Park Georgetown Apartments Earns Bicycle Friendly Business Designation

Arlington Transportation Partners (ATP) is excited to congratulate Park Georgetown Apartments on earning a Silver Designation as a Bicycle Friendly Business (BFB) from the League of American Bicyclists.

Park Georgetown Apartments has already demonstrated their commitment to offering transportation benefits to their residents through their participation in the ATP Champions initiative for the last 11 years. This program awards workplaces, residential communities, and hotels that reduce the use of single-occupancy vehicles through their implementation of transportation benefits and amenities.

The national recognition as a BFB, places Park Georgetown among more than 1,100 businesses, government agencies, and Fortune 500 companies across the United States that are transforming workplaces and residential communities to be more welcoming to people who bike.

What it Means to be a Bicycle Friendly Business?

The BFB Program recognizes organizations that actively support safer, more accessible, and more convenient biking for employees, residents, and visitors. The Silver Designation demonstrates meaningful and sustained efforts in areas such as secure bike parking, supportive resident amenities, bike repair stations, encouraging active commuting, and creating a culture that supports sustainable transportation. Rather than treating biking as a one-time initiative, BFB’s build biking into their amenities and everyday operations.

Celebrating Those Who Made It Happen

Located just minutes from Georgetown, Ballston, Clarendon, and the Custis Trail. Park Georgetown Apartments delivers a truly connected lifestyle. With great transportation amenities and access to nearby retail, restaurants, and transit. Park Georgetown strikes the perfect balance between urban convenience and active, healthy living.

This designation would not be possible without dedicated leadership from the Park Georgetown team – including Property Manager, Stephanie Andrade, whose focus on resident experience, community engagement, and thoughtful amenities helped make this achievement a reality. Stephanie shared with ATP what this designation means to her and her team. “Receiving the Silver Bicycle Friendly Business designation is a proud moment for our team at Park Georgetown. It reflects our commitment to creating a community that supports healthy lifestyles, sustainability, and alternative transportation options for our residents.”

Supporting Health, Sustainability, and Resident Experience

As more people discover the physical, financial, and environmental benefits of biking, communities that prioritize active transportation stand out. Bike-friendly living helps enhance resident satisfaction and retention, promote healthier lifestyles, reduce reliance on cars, and support sustainability goals.
