New Features for National Walking Day 2020

Written by Pinky Advani | March 5, 2020

We all know there are numerous benefits of walking which include low impact, reduced stress, improved focus and the best benefit is you get to participate in National Walking Day. Walking does not require any special gear or training hence makes it feasible for all.

Join Arlington Transportation Partners and WalkArlington on Wednesday, April 1 for National Walking Day and celebrate the benefits of walking with exciting walk-inspired events. And yes—we know its April Fool’s Day but this is not a drill! Here’s the breakdown of events for the day.

Lunchtime Pit Stops

Wednesday, April 1, 2020 from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Share the event details with your coworkers and friends and create a meeting invite so that it’s there on everyone’s calendars. We will have four pit stops with plenty of fun festivities at each pit stop.

Bonus: Employers enrolled in our Champions program earn Silver Level credit when their employees register and participate in National Walking Day.

Each year, we try to add something new for our attendees and this year is no different. WalkArlington will lead a guided tour at the Columbia Pike pit stop, exploring the neighborhood’s highlights. Get your blood pumping and reserve your ticket as space is very limited. Registrants should meet at the Columbia Pike pit stop, ready to walk!

Happy Hour and Evening Walk

Wednesday, April 1, 2020 from 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.

Our friends at WalkArlington will be holding happy hour at Open Road, a new restaurant in Rosslyn, and hit the sidewalks for an hour-long evening walk. The evening walk is a great way to get to know the neighborhood with friends and coworkers and earn some extra steps. Appetizers will be provided courtesy of the Rosslyn BID and drinks will be available for purchase. Space is limited so make sure you register online.

  • Open Road, 1201 Wilson Boulevard (entrance on Central Place Plaza)
