Bike racksThe BFB program, sponsored by the League of American Bicyclists, gives national recognition to employers and commercial properties for encouraging employees and tenants to bike more often. Businesses that have be
en designated as a BFB are recognized for creating a more “welcoming atmosphere” for bicycling through the “5 E’s”.

These include encouragement, such as offering the bike benefit, group office rides, and promoting bike events such as Bike to Work Day; engineering, which includes installing facilities like secure bike storage and showers, as well as proximity to local bike access; education, such as hosting maintenance classes or providing info on bike routes; and evaluation, which looks at data to determine how many people commute to work by bike and other impacts a company’s bike programs have on employees.
