At Arlington Transportation Partners (ATP), we love highlighting our Champions for all the great work they do to make commuting easy for their employees. One of the things we're most proud of is that Champions come in all shapes and sizes.
We’ve highlighted some larger businesses here in Arlington, but today we’re honoring Virginia Department of Corrections, a Silver Level Champion, and a perfect example that you don’t have to be a big corporation to offer a transportation benefit.
Located in Clarendon, employees at Virginia Department of Corrections have easy access to various transit options (both Metrorail and bus). Wanda Parris-Flanagan, Deborah Thompson and Sarah Carruth are the triumvirate of leadership at Virginia Department of Correction and handle the company’s benefits program. Participating in our Champions pilot program in 2013, National Walk @ Lunch Day (annually) and more are just a few ways these 3 women keep their fellow colleagues engaged.
Sarah Carruth, Court Officer commutes to work via Metrorail and appreciates her stress free commute. She enjoys the ability to read a book and relax on the train. We hope her enjoyable experience rubs off on others too. Thank you to the ladies at Virginia Department of Corrections for all your hard work in 2014. We look forward to your continued support in the coming year.
Champions 2015
Even though Champions 2014 has come to a close, ATP is already looking to honor even more Champions in 2015! Champions is a 1-year program with an informal re-enrollment process. Simply put, your rep will contact you to confirm you’d like to participate again. Silver Level companies like Virginia Department of Corrections, will simply continue to receive their earned recognition and invitations to special Champion events as we move into 2015.
