Our Champions Ceremony is getting closer and we’re getting more excited! Time for you to get more excited with us, so here are some quick facts that you can share:
- 14 of our Champions enjoy the perks of Capital Bikeshare Corporate Memberships
- 8 Champions are designated as Bicycle Friendly Businesses, by the League of American Bicyclists
- 14 Residential Champions leveled up throughout 2014, showing their dedication to their residents and the program
- 60% of our Champions are Employers in Arlington County
60% - that’s a lot. In fact, that’s 75 of our 122 Champions and 1 of those 75 Champions just happens to be Virginia Hospital Center.
Located along N. George Mason Drive, near Lee Highway, Virginia Hospital Center is a Gold Level Champion that offers their employees great transportation benefits and amenities. Cornelia Lesh, Manager of Community Health at Virginia Hospital Center, talks about the free ART bus ride (ART 51 or ART 52) that employees can take to or from the Ballston Metro, in the video below.
She states, “I know a lot of employees do take the bus. It’s definitely a lot cheaper and lot more stress-free than driving.”
Champions 2015
Even though Champions 2014 has come to a close, ATP is already looking to honor even more Champions in 2015! Champions is a 1-year program with an informal re-enrollment process. Simply put, your rep will contact you to confirm you’d like to participate again. Gold Level companies like Virginia Hospital Center will simply continue to receive their earned recognition and invitations to special Champion events as we move into 2015.
