While normal life is slowly becoming a reality, property managers of multi-family residential properties face a new challenge to attract new prospects and retain current residents. New realities, new amenities, and new ways to communicate will undoubtedly change priorities of what people are looking for in a place to live. In our latest webinar, we shared some tips on how to incorporate transportation trends into your property's strategy and provide some insights on where to start.

Why Transportation Is Important

In today's competitive market, standing out from your competitors is key to attracting new prospects. Arlington Transportation Partners can help you set up a plan to answer questions about transportation that will come up during property tours that will add that "wow" factor to your pitch.

Residents need to go to the grocery store, go out to a restaurant, or just go for a walk. Providing a multi-modal way of living is a great way to keep them engaged with the community. Also, did you know that there is a direct link between commuting and happiness

Information is key

While looking for a new place to live, one of the very first things residents look at is their future commute. It is about the location, but it is also about how to travel to and from there new home.

Providing updated information to your residents or answering all your prospects' questions will enhance your recruitment strategy. Work with ATP to stay up-to-date on all the transportation events and news around the area—from Metro shutdowns to new Capital Bikeshare programs.

Transportation Trends During Covid-19

There is no question that the Pandemic has reshaped transportation and created new trends at multi-family properties. We take a look at the ways you can enhance your property's offerings to meet your tenants' needs:

Enhanced telework facilities

Telework is here to stay. Residents will be looking to have a comfortable space where they can take calls or access a different area than their apartments in which to work. Having WiFi in the common and outdoor areas will help residents to make work more enjoyable. Think about selling working from home poolside as an out-of-the-box solution.

Digital transportation displays

Having a Digital Transportation Display enables them to assess different option in real-time and evaluate them at a quick glance.

This is another transportation mode that can be used for commuting or leisure. Scooters are fun to ride, easy to access, and convenient to park.

You already know that your residents are using more the bike room, and we have noticed increased trail usage across the county. A bike is always a good option, and a good exercise.
