Arlington Transportation Partners (ATP) kicked-off in-person events with Our Shared Street and we couldn’t have been more excited to see our clients and interact with the public after a long hiatus. The event took place at Central Place Plaza in Rosslyn and displayed how Arlington County supports a sustainable commute. Here’s a quick snapshot of what we learned at the event.
Discovering More Options
E-Scooters are here to stay
Bird and Helbiz provided a track course where attendees could try out e-scooters for the first time. Commuters could see for themselves how efficient, easy to use, and fun e-scooters can be.
Bike tune-ups from Velofix
ATP and our partners at Velofix offered free bike tune-ups for attendees as well. This was the highlight of the evening as many Arlington residents took advantage and tuned-up their bikes in preparation for their active commute during the fall and winter months.
BikeArlington also had an on-site demonstration of how to dock a bike on an ARTbus and Metrobus bike racks, which can come in handy for residents who want to use multiple modes during their commute.
Metro will always be reliable
With the event located next to Rosslyn Metro Station, lots of transit riders stopped by to check the event. Metro commuters had the chance to hear from us regarding the latest updates on WMATA’s Platform Improvement Project, increased service, and safety measures to ensure commuters travel safely to and from work.
A Huge Thank You to Participants and Vendors
ATP thanks all the attendees and vendors that made the Our Shared Street event a success. We couldn’t have done it without our event sponsor, Rosslyn BID. We also would like to thank Emma G, a local artist, who regaled the attendees with great live music.
